Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said religious leaders of the country should not allow those allegedly guilty of corruption and frauds to quote from respective faiths or scriptures as done by former Minister Ravi Karunanayake before...... relinquishing his portfolio in Parliament last Thursday.

The MP stated that the people would unreservedly condemn the actions of the former Minister who blatantly used Buddhism, Christianity and Islamic scriptures to cover up his alleged acts of fraud.

Dissanayake asserted that Karunanayake could not under any circumstance be described as a political hero as his political career will be forever tarnished for having allegedly been linked to the Central Bank Bonds scam.

He charged that MP Karunanayake had made an absurd move to highlight the mental agony experienced by his wife, children and mother before the country during his resignation speech.
