The Public Services Management Assistants' Union (PSMAU) says in a communiqué that their workers are highly inconvenienced and are facing huge problems related to their work due to government's lackadaisical attitude towards them.

The PSMAU states that despite having held talks with the subject minister, no solutions have been forthcoming even for the administrative issues.

The PSMAU has pointed out that instead of solving problems the issues have aggravated due to the conduct of certain ministers and views expressed by them. The PSMAU has stated that when officers are appointed to it, only qualifications at GCE O/L and Advanced Level examinations are being considered.

It has been stressed by the PSMAU that only qualified degree holders are allowed to enlist in its service but lately such qualifications have not been considered in making such appointments.

The PSMAU has pointed out that there were scores of persons in the Public Service Management sector who have been appointed without the requisite qualifications.

The PSMAU has urged the subject minister to look into the issues raised by them forthwith in a bid to enhance the enthusiasm of its workforce before things get out of hand.
