Entertainment Yohani to make Bollywood debut with Hindi version of her hit track

Sri Lankan singer of the 'Manike Mage Hithe' fame, Yohani de Silva, is set to make her Bollywood debut with the film 'Thank God'.

Indian Media has reported quoting a statement that Yohani will sing the Hindi version of her globally loved song for the upcoming film.

The comedy features Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh.

Its director Indra Kumar said, "Yohani's song has become a super sensation and I am extremely thankful to Bhushanji for giving me this blockbuster track to be part of Thank God! We are all very excited for this version and will begin shooting soon for the track. 'Thank God' is a unique slice of life comedy, and me and my whole team are looking forward to presenting it to audiences next year!"

Film critic Taran Adarsh hasshared the news on Twitter which read, “SRI LANKAN SENSATION YOHANI’S BLOCKBUSTER SONG NOW IN HINDI… #SriLankan sensation #Yohani – who has taken the internet by storm with her Blockbuster track #ManikeMageHithe – makes her #Bollywood debut… A special #Hindi version of the song will be part of #ThankGod.”

He further mentioned that the Hindi version of the song will be penned by Rashmi Virag and composed by Tanishk Bagchi.

Yohani, who recently appeared in 'Bigg Boss 15' and 'The Big Picture', has expressed her happiness on bagging the Bollywood project.

"I have received tremendous love and support from India and am extremely grateful to Bhushan Kumar, Indra Kumar and the entire team of Thank God for presenting the Hindi version of my track in the film! I am looking forward to visiting India soon," she said.

'Thank God' is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashok Thakeria, Sunir Kheterpal, Deepak Mukut, Anand Pandit and Markand Adhikari and co-produced by Yash Shah.
