All Ceylon Young Men’s Muslim Association (YMMA) National President Saheed M. Rismy yesterday (19) requested YMMA members to refrain from maintaining contacts with 11 Muslim organisations that have been banned by the Government.

He made the request to trustees, Board members, working Committee members and all regional members of YMMA islandwide.

He said that since its inception members of the YMMA were patriotic and followed the law of the country.

Rismy warned that if any member maintained contacts with members of the banned organisations they would not take any responsibility in that connection.

All members have been asked to be registered at the respective Divisional Secretariats as being members of  Volunteer Social Service Organisations.

“Reports of monthly and annual meetings, renewed information of members along with the current communication information the accurate records of income, expenditure and audit report must be accurately maintained,” Rismy said.

Members were not entitled to directly receive foreign aid or release statements,
