Entertainment Win luxury hotel stays with Ceylon Today!

We’re giving our readers the chance to win overnight stays at luxury hotels! All you have to do is send any newsworthy footage you’ve shot via smartphone or camera to Ceylon Today.

The competition is open to readers from all over the island; if think you’ve got the eye, feel free to apply! We’re looking for all kinds of videos that tell the stories people need to hear.

If your video is good enough, you won’t just win a relaxing hotel stay – we might even take you on as a freelance journalist!

Here’s how it works:

Send us a video you’ve shot of something newsworthy. Our in-house team will go through the submissions each week and pick the top few to be featured on our Facebook page.

If your video is among those selected, you’ll have a week to bring your friends on board to like the page and share the video!

We’ll be looking at the stories that can best grab the attention of our audience, and rewarding those storytellers with vouchers that allow an overnight stay for two at one of Asia Leisure’s luxury hotels in iconic locations around the country!

Send us your videos on the following subjects:

  • Social misconduct
  • Local issues that need awareness
  • Traffic violations
  • Unique landscapes and locations
  • Important community messages

How to shoot scenes

You can ideally use your mobile phone to shoot your videos, but if you have a camera, feel free to use it!

Video can be submitted in any resolution, although Full HD (1920x1080) or HD (1080x720) resolutions are preferred. However, videos need to be limited to a duration of under five minutes.

Subject matter cannot include lewd content, corpses, blood or traumatic imagery.

For video involving children, consent of the subjects’ parent/guardian must be obtained in writing and submitted with the entry.

You may submit your entries to Ceylon Today via Whatsapp on 076 504 3987.

Terms and Conditions

To qualify for the competition, entrants must follow the Ceylon Today Facebook page.
