Underworld figure 'Barrel Sanka' arrested in Peliyagoda

Notorious underworld figure Herath Mudiyanselage Prabath Madusanka, alias 'Barrel Sanka' was arrested by the Peliyagoda Police yesterday (19). 

Speaking to Ceylon Today, the OIC of the Peliyagoda Police stated that the arrest took place last evening at Gemunu Mawatha in the Peliyagoda area, based on a tip-off they had received.

The 26-year-old arrestee is a resident of the Miriswatte area in Peliyagoda and had been in possession of 4 grams and 130 milligrams of heroin at the time of his arrest.

The suspect, who has been accused of a number of crimes including murder and drug trafficking is to be produced before the Hulftsdorp Magistrate's Court today (20).
