Under-16 online event on 15/16 May
The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) has organized the online Under16 Girls Youth Rapid Chess Championship 2021 on the chess.com platform, and the event will be held on 15 and 16 May. There will be 7 rounds on the time control of 15 minutes +10 seconds increment from move 1. If there are more than 100 players 8 rounds will be held, and if more than 200 it will be increased to 9 rounds.
Age is considered by 1 January 2021. Tournament Regulations Players should log in to chess.com/live (not only www.chess.com) and play on laptops. Mobiles or other equipment are not allowed. Players should register their real name in their chess.com profile and upload a recent photo.
The pairing of each round and results will be published in www.chess-results.com under the SRI Federation. Players are requested to check and inform of corrections immediately, if any. Only the player should be in his/her playing room. Player’s webcam, speaker, and microphone should work at all times. Also, players should share their screens with the organizers with task bar. All other programmes except the Chess.com and the zoom should be closed while playing. Players should observe silence and avoid background noise. (Zoom software will be used) Each round shall take around 1 hour. Players should be ready for the next round.
If any Player goes out from their seat in between rounds, they should return and be at their seats in the same camera angles and wait for the Arbiter to start the round. Arbiters will start the games on chess.com and players should be ready to play the games once it starts. Players need to login to chess.com live and zoom, 15 minutes before the start of each round. First round 30 minutes before. Zoom links will be shared with the players in advance.
WhatsApp group will be created and communication will be done through that. Anti-Cheating regulations will be strictly followed, and fair play and good sportsmanship is expected from all participants. Games will be closely monitored. Engines will be used for the analysis purpose and randomly games will be analyzed by www.chess.com.
If any misconduct or violation found, the player will be disqualified from the event and disciplinary action taken accordingly by CFSL. Players may be banned for two years from competitive chess in case of severe misconduct. It is the player’s responsibility to be connected to the playing zone. This includes providing a stable internet connection and a working playing device. When playing under video supervision, the player shall use a webcam that shows his/her complete face during the game.
The picture displayed shall not hide the surroundings of the player and no virtual background shall be allowed. The room lighting must be sufficient to allow seeing the movement of a player’s eyes to be monitored by the Arbiter. A player’s microphone must always transmit any sounds audible near the player to the Arbiter. Please do not play unofficial games in between rounds during the tournament. The organizer’s decision is the final decision regarding any misconduct. Award: Winners will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and certificates. The Champion will receive a trophy. As per CFSL policy, certificates will be issued; 10 for first 20 players and one each for each additional 10 players. If there are 100 players 18 certificates will be issued till 18 May. (IR)
