Ukrainian tourists visit Polonnaruwa

Forty-five Ukrainian tourists today (19) visited a number of shrines in Polonnaruwa.
Our correspondent stated that former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, and the tour group were warmly welcomed by officials of the Polonnaruwa Project Office of the Central Cultural Fund.
After visiting the Maligawa, Vatadage, Rankoth Vehera, Galvihara and Thivanka Pilimage, the group left for Matale.
The police and the army have provided security for the tourists and they as well as the Central Cultural Fund team have been deployed in safety uniforms to facilitate the crowd.
