UK will continue to lead action on Sri Lanka at UNHRC - Raab
UK Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Dominic Raab stated that United Kingdom will continue to lead action in the UNHRC on Sri Lanka.
Addressing the opening session of the 46th Regular session of the UNHRC, Rapp noted that the UK will present a new resolution to maintain focus on reconciliation and accountability.
He added that the UK wants to see an effective international Human Rights system that holds to account those who systematically violate Human rights. Adding that the UNHRC should be ready to play its role in full or risk its reputation being sorely damaged.
"We will continue to speak up in this council for what is right and we will back up our words with actions," Rapp concluded.
