Two more staffers of a hotel in Galle test positive for COVID-19

The Galle District Health Services Director's Office confirmed today (18) that two more employees of a renowned tourist hotel in Galle have tested positive for COVID-19. It was also noted that the touring English Cricket Team is currently residing in this hotel.
The two victims are residents of Galle and Kegalle and work in the kitchen and laundry departments of the hotel.
Following the identification of two kitchen workers as COVID-19 positive patients, PCR tests were carried out on 98 employees of the hotel the day before yesterday (16). The new Covid patients were discovered following these tests. The two victims have been admitted to hospitals for treatment.
Despite a statement made by the Hotel Management that the two employees did not come into direct contact with the English team, health officials noted that Public Health Inspectors (PHI's) are working to determine how the staffers contracted the virus.
