Two Colombo Hotels isolated to quarantine expats

Steps are being taken to isolate two leading hotels in Colombo to provide facilities to expatriates arriving in the country, to spend their mandatory quarantine period.
Chief Medical Officer at the Colombo Municipal Council, Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni yesterday (3) claimed that it can appreciate in future since the numbers of such persons coming in are increasing day by day.
The Cinnamon Red Hotel and Best Western Elyon Hotel in Colombo will be isolated for quarantine centres. He said, isolation of these hotels have been decided by the health authorities and the Army along with other relevant authorities.
“The isolation process is over and we look forward to providing the required facilities to those coming in,” he said. Additional Secretary to the President for Foreign Relations, Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage said, over 20,000 Sri Lankans from 94 countries have now returned and the focus now is to bring down the Sri Lankans stranded in the Middle Eastern countries and the Maldives. More than 50,000 people are expected to return to their homeland.
