Officers of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services (DPCCS), on Tuesday, informed Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva that officials from the Police Women and Child Bureau making submissions to Court purely on evidence obtained from the minor who was sexually molested due to being exposed on the Internet was incorrect.
DPCCS officers made this submission when an identification parade held in connection with the case was held. The officials stated that so far no report had been summoned by them in connection with a complaint lodged related to the minor concerning an alleged act of sexual molestation committed against her and lodged with the Meegahawatta Police.
At the identification parade held before Acting Magistrate CD Perera, the victim had identified former Bank Manager N. Chandran, SI R. Dilugkaran and vocalist Abeyratne Banda and they were subsequently ordered to be remanded till 26 July.
