Third year commemoration of Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thera falls today

The third year commemoration of the late Chief Incumbent of Sambodhi Viharaya Colombo 7,Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thera falls today.
An alms-giving to 50 novice Buddhist monks residing in temples in far flung areas such as Polonnaruwa, Dambana, Girandurukotte, Veherayaya and Moraweva is set to take place at the Sambodhi Viharaya Temple at noon.
On the sidelines of the alms-giving a donation of beds, mattresses and cupboards to these monks will also take place.
The third year commemoration of the Late Ven. Kusaladhamma Thera commenced with the donation of a Buddhist shrine to the Sammani Regional School in Badulla on 25 February.
Furthermore, a donation of wheelchairs to disabled devotees who had arrived to observe Sil at the Atamasthana in Anuradhapura on the Navam Full Moon Poya Day which fell on 26 February also took place.
Afterwards, 10 lawnmowers to keep the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi clean were handed over to the CDF. Further religious events were held at the Kirivehera Temple in Kataragama and Rankoth Temple in Polonnaruwa had taken place on 27 February to invoke merit on the late Thera.
Afterwards, two large water filters had been donated to the kidney patients of Kahatagasdigiliya and Kumbukgollawa villages on 28 February.
Another religious event had been held at the Keegahawatta Temple in Ampara. The religious events to invoke merit on the late monk had been organised by the Directors of the Sambodhi Foundation and Directors of the Bauddhaya Television Network, ex-CJ Sarath N. Silva, former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda, Dr. Harsha Alles, Dilith Jayaweera, Suranimala Senaratne and Sudath Tennakoon and the Dayaka Sabha of the Temple.
