State Minister of Solar Power, Wind and Hydro Power Generation Projects Development Duminda Dissanayake suggested a tariff committee to anticipate challenges that may develop with solar power projects, as Sri Lanka aims to expand renewable energy use to 70 per cent by 2030.
Secretary to the Ministry of Power, Wasantha Perera, has been instructed to make the necessary arrangements to appoint the committee. He explained that action should be taken to fast track projects that can be implemented now and that projects to be completed by 2025 should be expedited if there are no issues.
