Suspect in NMRA database case further remanded till 2 November

Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala on Monday ordered the suspect, the Assistant Engineer attached to Epic Lanka Technology Private Limited who was remanded on charges of illegal entry to the NMRA database and deletion of 1.1 million data files, to be further jailed till 2 November.

The incarcerated suspect was identified as RA Don Pramod Dilupa Ramanayake who was attached to the said firm situated at Divulapitiya, Wellapita as a software engineer. The defence lawyer submitted written submissions to the Chief Magistrate with regard to enlarging his client on bail. Taking the submissions into consideration, Magistrate Ragala then ordered the prosecution to inform him with regard to bail being sought by the defence at the next hearing and fixed further proceedings of the trial to the said date.
