Suspect Arrested in Battaramulla

The Special Task Force has arrested a suspect along with Rs 2.5 million worth of cannabis on 20 February, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. The cannabis had been liquefied and stored in six bottles, weighing 609 grams.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested in Pelawatte, Battaramulla for selling the liquid as hash oil. Thalangama police are carrying out further investigations.
DIG Rohana said that in addition to cannabis, methamphetamine, commonly known as ICE, is also being liquefied and sold. He added that Police are conducting investigations into the sale of such products and urged the public to provide any information they have to the Police on hotlines 118, 119 and 1998.
