Suspect arrested for posing as a President's Counsel
Police have arrested a 38-year-old individual in Borella for extorting money while posing as a President's Counsel and a Western Provincial Councillor.
The suspect is a resident of Baseline Road, Borella.
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect obtained money with the promise of providing land, houses and employment opportunities.
A stamp bearing his name as the President's Counsel and a member of the Western Provincial Council was found in his possession.
The suspect will be produced in court today (02).
Borella Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
