Sri Lanka & China signs Military Assistance Protocol
China and Sri Lanka signed a Military Assistance Protocol between the two countries during the visit of the Defence Minister of China, General Wei Fenghei, yesterday (28).
General Fenghei left early morning today (29) after concluding successful bilateral discussions with the President, Prime Minister and representatives of the Ministry of Defence.
The Defence Secretary, Major Gen. (Retd.) Kamal Gunaratne appreciated the recent supportive measure extended by the Chinese Government during the UNHRC resolution tabled against Sri Lanka.
“We are looking forward to work together with Sri Lanka to enhance practical cooperation and to promote bilateral relations to a greater extent,” said General Fenghe while highlighting the existing military ties between the two countries.
General Fenghei also took steps to visit the Bandaranaike Memorial International Convention Centre (BMICH) yesterday (28).
