Over 9600 tourist arrivals in 2021 first quarter: SLTDA
The latest statistics from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority show that the total number of foreign tourists who arrived in the country during the months of January, February and March 2021 was 9,629.
Tourist arrivals have shown a gradual increase from 1,682 in January, 3,366 in February and 4,581 in March.
Sri Lanka recorded most arrivals from Ukraine in January 2021, while Kazakhstan recorded the most amount of arrivals within February and March.
The Ministry of Health issued revised guidelines for tourists on 18 March, which underlines that vaccinated individuals coming to Sri Lanka from foreign countries are required to do a PCR test within 24 hours after arrival, and if the report is negative, they are not required to undergo the quarantine process.
