SLC refers Gunathilaka, Mendis and Dickwella for mandatory counselling
Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella have been banned for one year from all forms of International cricket, following allegations of the trio breaching the bio-bubble whilst on tour in England.
They have each been fined Rs. 10 million, and have also been banned for six months from domestic cricket.
Issuing a statement on the matter, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) noted that upon completion of the one year ban on International cricket, each of the players will be subjected to a further ban of one year, which will be suspended for two years.
It has also been mandated that Gunathilaka, Mendis and Dickwella see a counsellor recommended by the SLC.
The trio were called back from their tour of England in June, after a video being circulated on several social media platforms showed the players casually enjoying the night life on the streets of Durham, whilst breaching the bio-bubble.
