Sports SL U-19 completes clean sweep vs. B’desh

Sri Lanka under-19 completed a clean sweep of the ODI series against Bangladesh when they won the fifth and final game by four runs in Dambulla today (25).

The hosts elected to bat first and opener Chamindu Wickramasinghe became the only centurion of the series as Sri Lanka under-19 posted 240 for nine.

His 102 came off 123 deliveries with three sixes and 12 boundaries.

Together with Shevon Daniel, who made 59 off 85 deliveries with two sixes and three fours, Chamindu shared a third wicket partnership of 154 runs.

After their partnership was broken, the host team lost wickets at regular intervals.

In bowling for the Bangladeshi youths, Mushfik Hasan, Ripon Mondol and Ahosan Habib claimed three for 37, two for 43 and two for 56 respectively.

The visiting team replied with 236 all out in 50 overs.

Mahfijul Islam and Aich Mollah made half centuries.

In bowling, Vinuja Ranpul took two for 21.
