SL student wins bronze at 2021 International Biology Olympiad
Sumadu Senadeera of St. Joseph's Girls' College, Kegalle won a Bronze Medal at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) Competition.
The 32nd IBO was conducted from Lisbon, Portugal and held as an online examination from 18- 23 July due to COVID-19. Theoretical and practical examinations of this competition were held at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 19 and 21 July.
Along with Sumadu Senadeera, Methma Wijesinghe (Sangamittha Girls' College, Galle), Pamoda Perera (Ananda College, Colombo) and Ruchini Niwarthana (Pushpadana Girls' College, Kandy) also represented Sri Lanka in the competition.
Professor Hiran Amarasekera, Professor Nissanka De Silva and Professor M. J. S. Wijeyaratne participated as Jury members while Professors from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Colombo and Kelaniya trained the students for the competition.
