Sports SL outplay Jubbah FC in friendly encounter

Sri Lankan National football team outplayed Jubbah FC 6-1 in a friendly encounter played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A brace from Waseem Razeek and a goal each from Kavindu Ishan, M. Rifkhan, Edison Figurado and M. Aakib set up a comfortable victory for the Golden Lions. With this win the confidence level of the Sri Lankan players will be high ahead of the SAFF Championship.

 The Sri Lankan squad is currently in Riyadh engaging in their final training camp ahead of the Championship. Five teams are competing in the 13th edition of the SAFF Championship which will run from1-16 October in Maldives. India has been the most successful country lifting the title on seven occasions, while Sri Lanka’s best performance was way back in 1995 when they outplayed India 1-0 in the final in Colombo. (MS)
