Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 threat level is still high as the country remains in the Red Zone, President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) Dr. Padma Gunaratne warned.
"We are reporting around 2,000 COVID-19 infections daily, which means there are at least around 6,000 cases within the community," she said, adding that the daily death toll is also around 150.
Dr. Padma Gunaratne stressed that the government and the people should pay more attention and take necessary action to prevent the recurrence of a COVID wave.
"The country is not yet free from the danger of COVID-19."
