Sports SL coasts to 7-wkt. win over Namibia

Sri Lanka coasted to an easy seven wicket win over Namibia in their T-20 World Cup first round group A encounter in Abu Dhabi today (18).

The Sri Lankan bowlers restricted Namibia to 96 all out in 19.3 overs.

Craig Williams top-scored with 29, and only two other batsmen were able to enter double figures.

In bowling for Sri Lanka, Mahesh Theekshana captured three for 25, while Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two wickets each.

The Sri Lankans were home in 13.3 overs, reaching 100 runs with the loss of only four wickets.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa remained unbeaten on 40 off 27 deliveries, inclusive of two sixes and four fours.

Keeping him company in an unbroken 74-run partnership was Avishka Fernando, who made 30 off 28 deliveries, with two sixes.
