General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Parliamentarian Ranjith Maddumabandara, told Ceylon Today that a decision was made to appoint a Board of Disciplinary Inquiry to obtain a verdict against the MPs of the SJB who voted in favour of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
Maddumabandara said they are prepared to summon a meeting of the MPs Committee to take a decision.
The SJB objected to the 20th Amendment from the very beginning and Maddumabandara said, it was a serious blow to democracy and that they are ready to take action against the people’s representatives who voted in favour of the Amendment.
