Several PHIs receive death threats
Several Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) including the Vice President of the Public Health Inspectors Union (PHIU) have received death threats despite their efforts to manage the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
"Duties will be performed despite these threats", Vice President of PHIU, A.U.T. Kulathilaka, said.
Ten PHIs who have received death threats have lodged complaints with the Police for their safety.
Further, Kulathilaka urged the Government to expedite the process of distributing the 85 motorcycles among PHIs, which had been promised to them to further streamline their work.
