Several operations carried out by Police to implement health guidelines
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 137 persons were arrested in the Western Province for not wearing masks and not maintaining social distance yesterday (13).
Several operations were carried out by the Police yesterday (13), including checking passengers on buses traveling from Colombo to the Northern Province, people at weekly fairs in the Western Province, those who are departing from the Western Province and school bus drivers and assistants.
Accordingly, several persons were identified as infected persons during the rapid antigen tests carried out.
Meanwhile, another special Police operation was carried out to find out whether health measures are being properly being implemented at public institutions.
The Police Media Spokesman further stated that 2,823 places have been inspected and legal action has been taken against 473 of them.
