Several isolated areas in Western Province to be reopened

A number of Police areas in the Colombo and Gampaha districts will be reopened with effect from 5 a.m. tomorrow (23), the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak announced.
Accordingly, Borella, Wellampitiya, Colombo Fort and Slave Island Police areas in the Colombo district will be reopened tomorrow.
However, the Wanathamulla Grama Niladhari Division of the Borella Police area and the Wekanda Grama Niladhari Division in the Slave Island Police area will remain isolated until further notice.
In addition, 13 isolated Police areas in the Colombo district, namely Mattakkuliya, Modara, Bloemendhal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Foreshore, Wolfendhal Street, Maligawatta, Dematagoda, Keselwatta, Maradana, Pettah and Dam Street, will remain isolated until further notice.
The Ja-Ela and Kadawata Police areas in the Gampaha district will also be reopened with effect from 5 a.m. tomorrow.
Other isolated Police areas in the Gampaha district, namely, Negombo, Ragama, Wattala, Peliyagoda and Kelaniya Police areas, will remain isolated until further notice.
