Send intelligent, experienced young leaders to Parliament – Mahinda
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa urged the voters to send intelligent and experienced young leaders, who can work for the betterment of the country, to Parliament in this Election.
He said addressing a professionals’ gathering in Kandy recently that 6.9 million people elected Gotabaya Rajapaksa as their President because they approved of his manifesto, ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’. He also said the next step is to elect a Parliament and a Cabinet which would make sure that the President’s vision and mission will be carried forward successfully.
He added, the 19th Amendment is detrimental to the rights of the citizens of this country.
Prime Minister Rajapaksa also said that he had to break away from the SLFP to form a new political alliance because the SLFP started aligning with the UNP, which brought in the 19th Amendment specifically to violate the rights of the Rajapaksas, which ultimately violated the rights of all the citizens of this country.
