By Naalir Jamaldeen
Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Batticaloa District Parliamentarian R. Sanakiyan on Tuesday (27) claimed that due to the selfish acts of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal (TMVP) party, the underprivileged Tamil community in the district have lost many benefits which they ought to have received.
While speaking to Ceylon Today Sanakiyan alleged that owing to the selfishness of an individual the people in the Batticaloa District are facing many inconveniences.
He further alleged that the TMVP believes that they are the custodians and should come to power to hold the District Development Committee (DDC) meeting.
"Many issues including drinking water problems, archeological issues, agriculture which were solved during the DDC meetings were pending for a long time without solution", Sanakiyan said. Sanakiyan extended a request to all Tamil political parties in the district to unite beyond all paradoxes to rally round, under one umbrella, to wipe out the grievances of the underprivileged Tamil community.
