Local Rs 250mn allocated to develop sports schools

The State Ministry of Rural and School Sports Infrastructure Improvement announced today that development work on 12 identified sports schools would commence this year.

A total of Rs 250mn has been allocated for the development work. The State Ministry noted that they would be enlisting the assistance of the  Tri forces for the development activities as well. 

The Ministry added that this marks phase 2 of their program to develop sports schools. Under phase 1, 5 identified schools were developed at a cost of Rs 81.72mn.

The selected schools are as follows: 

Dickwella Vijitha College, 

Hanwella Rajasinghe Central College, 

Anuradhapura Central College, 

Polonnaruwa Royal Central College,

 Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, 

Galle D.S.Senanayake MMV, 

Ampara St Joseph College, Trincomalee 

Jaffna Central College

 Henegama MMV, Gampaha 

Pelwatte Navodya School, Monaragala 

Murungan MV Mannar, 

Hindu College, Ratmalana
