Seized coconut oil confirmed cancerous

Relevant reports of the samples of seized coconut oil from the two bowsers handed over to the Customs by the Dankotuwa Police have been received.
Spokesperson and Deputy Director of Customs (Legal Affairs) Sudaththa Silva said according to the reports, these samples have been confirmed to contain the chemical aflatoxin.
The Customs is conducting further investigations and is awaiting reports on samples sent to the Government Analyst and the Food Control Administration Unit of the Ministry of Health.
