FT Samsung launches ‘Samsung Combat Arena 2021’

Samsung announces the ‘Samsung Combat Arena 2021’, an E-sports gaming event and tournament featuring one of the largest prize pools in Sri Lankan E-sports to-date. The event and tournament will be held at the One Galle Face Mall on 24 April 2021. 

Samsung has been developing products and services for gamers and promoting E-sports in Sri Lanka over the years, as it was identified that the youth are passionate about it. As a result, Samsung has successfully initiated and completed three large scale gaming competitions in 2020 alone with over 1,000 participants from all around Sri Lanka and a staggering 175,000 people streaming the tournaments each time. 

Samsung Sri Lanka’s Managing Director, Kevin SungSu YOU said, “The ‘Samsung Combat Arena 2021’ is a milestone for us in promoting E-sports in Sri Lanka. It is our 4th such event for gamers and movie lovers alike and is part of our growing platform for further developing E-sports and empowering the youth of Sri Lanka. We look forward to hosting even more events like this in the future and seeing E-sports in Sri Lanka move up to the next level taking local gamers to greater heights and ultimately to the global arena”. 

Samsung continues to amplify E-Sports in Sri Lanka not only with such events but with their products as well. Samsung’s recent introduction of Galaxy A series has features such as Game booster technology, display with 90Hz refresh rate, gaming processors and much more on offer, Samsung has revitalised their technology to be more focused on proving the ultimate gaming experience to its users.
