Sports Royal and Trinity advance to semis

Unbeaten Royal Colombo and Trinity Kandy advanced to the semi-finals of the Under-19 Inter Schools Division One Tier A Cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA) yesterday.

Royal beat Nalanda Colombo by 6 wickets at S. Thomas’ ground Mt. Lavinia, while Trinity beat St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa by 7 wickets at Royal ground Colombo.

The batsmen who performed well in the quarter-finals were Raveen de Silva (Nalanda), Ahan Wickramasinghe (Royal), Sineth Lakwan (Royal), Yashan Avishka (St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa) and Umair Raizan.

In Mt. Lavinia (Royal won by 6 wickets)

Nalanda: 189/7 (50) (Raveen de Silva 59 n.o., Nadil Jayakody 32, Rashan Dissanayake 30, Dasis Manchanayake 3/17) 

Royal: 191/4 (39) (Ahan Wickramasinghe 71 n.o., Sineth Lakwan 60, Dineth Samaraweera 2/32)

At Reid Avenue (Trinity won by 7 wickets)

St. Sebastian’s: 131 (43.2) (Yashan Avishka 51, Savindu Rodrigo 30, Dinuka Thennakoon 4/22, Abishek Anandakumar 3/40)
