Record 67 COVID-19 Deaths on Thursday– Epidemiology Unit
The number of COVID-19 deaths yesterday (10) beat Wednesday’s (9) record of 54 by registering 67 fatalities, Epidemiology Unit (EU) data showed. This increases the COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka, since detecting its first case on 27 January, to 1,910 deaths; a step closer to the 2,000 fatalities mark.
The number of new cases recorded yesterday was 2,735; while recoveries were of a smaller figure at 1,811. The total number of cases hospitalised was 29,248. The total number of cases in the island was at 213,395 and the total number of recoveries was at 182,238. The aforesaid numbers includes foreigners.
