Quarantine Curfew in 64 Police Areas

As of yesterday (25), authorities had imposed quarantine curfew in 64 Police areas. Quarantine curfew was imposed in four more Police areas in the Colombo District with effect from 6 p.m., yesterday.
Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said Fort, Pettah, Borella and Welikada Police areas will be under curfew until further notice.
In addition, several more police areas in the Colombo and Kalutara Districts, and the whole of the Gampaha District are under curfew.
The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said although it was previously announced that the quarantine curfew imposed in the Beruwala, Aluthgama and Payagala Police areas would be lifted at 5 a.m. today (26), it will continue to be in effect until further notice.
Accordingly, curfew is in effect in 37 Police areas in the Gampaha District, 19 in the Colombo District, three in the Kalutara District and five in the Kurunegala District.
Curfew in the Colombo District is in effect in Mattakkuliya, Keselwatta, Maligawatta, Dematagoda, Maradana, Kotahena, Mutwal, Dam Street, Wolfendhal Street, Foreshore, Bloemendhal, Gothatuwa, Grandpass, Mulleriyawa and Wellampitiya, Colombo Fort, Pettah, Borella and Welikada.
DIG Rohana said curfew was imposed as a precautionary measure and will remain in place until further notice, adding that vehicles will not be allowed to make stops in curfew areas. However, he said essential services will be able to operate unhindered.
