Qatar reopens borders for six Asian countries including SL
Qatar has updated its travel policy for passengers arriving from six Asian countries including Sri Lanka, instituting mandatory hotel quarantine for them.
Starting from Monday (02), arrivals from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka who have got vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 in Qatar will be subjected to a two-day hotel quarantine.
Other arrivals from these countries will be subjected to a quarantine period of 10 days, Qatar's Ministry of Health stated.
Passengers vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 in the state of Qatar, are allowed to take PCR test results on the second day, and will be allowed to leave the quarantine hotel in the event they test negative for the coronavirus.
Health authorities there have authorized the use of the Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Sinopharm vaccines.
Last month, the Qatari Interior Ministry announced resuming the issuance of tourist and family entry visas.
