Public Security Minister calls for CID report regarding AG's statement
Minister of Public Security, Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara has called for a report from the CID regarding allegations that the reports of the investigations carried out against the suspects involved in the Easter Sunday Attack are incomplete.
Attorney General Dappula de Livera directed a letter to the IGP C.D. Wickramaratne stating that the evidence regarding 42 suspects involved in the Easter Sunday Attacks should be confirmed in writing, however that investigations on five other suspects are incomplete.
The Attorney General said that he will not be able to file cases against the suspects before the end of his term.
Minister Weerasekera added he had inquired the CID about Attorney General's statement and had called for a report from the CID regarding his statement.
