President visits Parliament

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday (19), paid a visit to Parliament while the Second Reading debate on the Appropriation Bill 2021 was on. This was the first time President Rajapaksa visited Parliament after the ceremonial inauguration of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament.
The President entered the Parliament Chamber at about 11:40 a.m. and was seen sitting beside Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. He listened to the speeches of State Minister Shehan Semasinghe, Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Yadamini Gunawardena. The President was seen having a conversation with the Premier as well. He also had his lunch at the MPs’ canteen in Parliament.
President Rajapaksa left the Parliament premises after two-and-a-half hours.
