President promises village visits to check on public wellbeing
The President said that he would visit the people from village to village to identify the various problems they face and find solutions immediately.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stated via press release that the he needs to see the problems that afflict them firsthand and listen to their grievances to get a proper understanding.
A statement issued by the Presidential Media Unit noted that his intention is to provide relief to the people.
The Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat area in the Badulla District have been selected for the first visit.
The first public meeting will begin at 10.00 a.m. on Friday (25) at Kumaratenna College, 100 Acres Village, Haputale.
The statement further read that the President had visited various parts of the country during the General Election and had realised that the rural people were living a difficult life due to long-unresolved economic and social problems.
