President orders probe into ex-CAA officer’s allegations
A presidential order instructs the Public Security Minister to investigate the allegations being leveled by former executive director of the Consumer Affairs Authority Thushan Gunawardena over the garlic scam at the state-owned Sathosa, said trade minister Bandula Gunawardena.
Speaking to the media today (12), Gunawardena described the allegations, circulating in the media, as being false and malicious.
The minister asked the media to furnish any relevant information, at least anonymously, to the CID.
Also speaking here, media minister Dullas Alahapperuma said that Thushan Gunawardena’s safety too, would be guaranteed by the police and the subject minister, while an investigation was under way.
