Power issues will be addressed within two weeks – Wildlife Minister

Obstacles preventing the obtaining of electricity to the Kanchuramottai Village located in North Vavuniya, were identified, and steps taken to remove such obstructions, said the Fisheries Ministry yesterday (21).
This took place at a meeting Minister Douglas Devananda had with Wildlife Minister C.B. Ratnayake at the former’s Ministry office in Colombo on 19 October, Devananda’s Media Secretary Nelson Edirisinghe told Ceylon Today.
The meeting also focused on the release of paddy lands coming under the purviews of the Vavuniya, Vavuniya North and Chettikulam Divisional Secretariats and also problems faced by those living in the area engaged in quarrying, sand mining and the kabook industries.
Ratnayake assured Devananda these issues raised by the latter would be addressed within another two weeks. Ratnayake further instructed the high ups in the Wildlife Ministry to submit a progress report in this regard.
