PNB drug trafficking case : Colombo Magistrate orders to issue warrant via Interpol

Colombo Chief Magistrate Mohamed Mihar today issued a warrant through Interpol for the arrest of Udara Sampath, who is the 14th suspect in a case relating to alleged links between drug traffickers and officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau.
Speaking on behalf of the Attorney General's Department, Deputy Solicitor General Dileep Peiris told the Court that the suspect had fled Sri Lanka using a fake passport.
Accordingly, the Court ordered the issuance of a red warrant for the arrest of Udara Sampath, the main suspect in the racket.
The other 16 suspects in the case were remanded again until February 2nd.
