Vice President of the Public Health Inspectors Union (PHIU), A.U.T. Kulathilaka, said he will take all possible measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, despite death threats being issued to him.
He said the PHIU has decided to perform its duties, despite threats levelled at them, and has urged the Government to expedite the process of distributing the 85 motorcycles among its officers, which had been promised to them to further streamline their work.
Already, 10 PHIs against whom death threats have been issued have lodged complaints with the Police.
