Philippines extends travel ban on Sri Lanka
The Philippines has extended travel restrictions on inbound travellers from Sri Lanka and six other countries until June 30, the Office of the President of the Philippines announced yesterday (14).
The Philippines previously imposed travel restrictions for inbound travellers until today (15).
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte approved the extension of travel bans imposed on India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
The Government added that the measure was taken to prevent the Indian Delta variant of COVID-19 from entering the country.
