PCoI to end hearings today

Former CID Director Shani Abeysekera is scheduled to testify before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing Easter Sunday terror attacks on 21 April 2019 today (19). 

A spokesman for the Commission said,  Abeysekera is scheduled to appear before the Commission this afternoon. Several other witnesses would testify this morning and the Commission decided to obtain their evidence in camera.

He also said, the hearings are likely to end today. It was previously reported that members of the Commission are currently preparing the final report. He said, the report would be submitted to the President before 31 January.
