PCoI recommendations will not be enforced under this Govt : Cardinal
Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith says the recommendations of the report by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) that investigated the Easter Sunday terror attacks cannot be enforced under the present administration.
Speaking at a service held at the St. Anthony’s Shrine in Kochchikade today (21) to mark 30 months since the 2019 attacks, the Cardinal said that he was worried that those responsible for the attacks will not be brought to light.
The Cardinal added that on 8 March this year the Attorney General at the time had said that the attacks were an organized event and that seven to eight terrorists alone could not have carried out the bombings, implying that the attacks were well thought and planned through.
The Cardinal said that according to what they have learned, senior security officers are trying to cover up investigations.
The Archbishop doubted what the ‘One Country, One Law’ policy promises, when the law is being enforced differently to allies and others.
