Pavithra back in the saddle

All sections of the State health service have worked together from the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis in the country which has helped to carry out control and preventive work of the viral infection without any hiccups, Health Minister, Pavitra Wanniarachchi said.
Re-assuming duties at the Health Ministry yesterday (23) following her complete recovery from COVID-19, Wanniarachchi held discussions with Ministry’s officials on the current status of the vaccination drive which is in progress, the current situation of PCR testing, progress in implementing health guidelines and the situation in COVID- 19 treatment centres were reviewed.
The Minister also thanked the health sector workers for the various religious observances of health service employees wishing her speedy recovery from the viral infection.
Health Secretary, Maj. Gen. (Rtd), Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, and Secretary to the State Ministry of Primary Health Care, Infectious Diseases, and COVID Control, Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva were also present.
