Patali's case: Judge warns lawyers not to interfere orders
High Court Judge Namal Balalle today (27) warned the lawyer who appeared for accused Patali Champika Ranawaka not to interfere against Court orders, and to ensure that Court orders are carried out accordingly.
The Judge issued the warning when the case against former Minister Ranawaka in connection with the alleged accident of a youth, Sandeep Sampath was taken up at the Court today (27).
Attorney-at-Law Rajika Kodithuwakku, appearing on behalf of the accused, requested the Court to give another date to make preliminary objections as the defence counsel Anuja Premaratne is currently being quarantined.
However, the judge admonished the defendant's attorney over the request to adjourn the case as written preliminary objections can also be submitted by the defendant.
Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris appeared before the court on behalf of the complainant.
